Although Bazil learnt heaps, I think I gained the most by just learning to trust what he'd learnt and have the confidence in being able to control him off the leash. It made such a difference, your giving us tools, reassurance and real hope that it would be worthwhile in the end. And it was. Little by little we moved ahead. Sometimes, it was hard to imagine we could ever get there; other times, we were astounded at how far we'd come, seemingly so fast. You may recall we had 2 lots of friends from the park that had offered to adopt Tess if it hadn't worked out (because she was such a loving, good and gentle soul) but every time I looked at Tess with doubts about whether she was better with us or would be happier in another family, she looked back at me with understanding acceptance but also with anxious hope - she could not have more resoundingly told me that, whatever, here was where she wanted to stay. At some time, I don't remember exactly when, I stopped thinking about it - that was an important turning point and we never looked back. To begin with, it had seemed that we had "2 + 1" dogs; but not more recently, we had become a family of 5.

I would of jettisioned my new puppy to anywhere safe other than my home initially (due to extremely jealous older dog) but Craig (Me Fella) persuaded me to call a specialist (Simon Goodall). He was marvellous, his instructions were easy to follow, he demonstrated his technique, left us with our instructions and within a week we had our old darling besotted with our new darling.
