Just wanted to say thank you for your puppy training classes that molly (my chocolate labrador) and I attended at greylyn vetcare a while back.I really enjoyed the classes and it helped me to understand how best to train her. I think Nadine you should rename this training 'Real World Training for Owners'. Although Bazil learnt heaps, I think I gained the most by just learning to trust what he'd learnt and have the confidence in being able to control him off the leash. He basically goes everywhere with us now and he just loves the company. He is so good with Mum, you would have noticed, she has dementia and she even finds him easier to control.

Going to the beach was fun. For us, I think we have had real benefits in learning about dog behaviour outdoors - like getting Diesel to stop running-up to people, how to encourage kids confidence around him etc and how we can train Diesel to be acceptable by the public out in public places.

It made such a difference, your giving us tools, reassurance and real hope that it would be worthwhile in the end. And it was. Little by little we moved ahead. Sometimes, it was hard to imagine we could ever get there; other times, we were astounded at how far we'd come, seemingly so fast. You may recall we had 2 lots of friends from the park that had offered to adopt Tess if it hadn't worked out (because she was such a loving, good and gentle soul) but every time I looked at Tess with doubts about whether she was better with us or would be happier in another family, she looked back at me with understanding acceptance but also with anxious hope - she could not have more resoundingly told me that, whatever, here was where she wanted to stay. At some time, I don't remember exactly when, I stopped thinking about it - that was an important turning point and we never looked back. To begin with, it had seemed that we had "2 + 1" dogs; but not more recently, we had become a family of 5.

Since your last visit, Charlie is no longer ferociously guarding the ENTIRE showroom, only his small area and he is no longer stressed. His hair is also improving and growing back! We had no idea that this was the reason why he was doing so badly. He quietly sits in his area just as you said and we still keep re-inforcing the no going near the street-side windows and front door. He looks so relaxed now and we have you to thank for that.

He's such a nice man and boy does he do a great job. I would of jettisioned my new puppy to anywhere safe other than my home initially (due to extremely jealous older dog) but Craig (Me Fella) persuaded me to call a specialist (Simon Goodall). He was marvellous, his instructions were easy to follow, he demonstrated his technique, left us with our instructions and within a week we had our old darling besotted with our new darling. (Note we did this job for a dog that was not walking properly on the lead and fixed it without using treats or haltis, or chokers. Just a normal collar and a good way to do it.)
