Targeted Training
Here at Dog Guru we have noticed over the years that some people have the same problems most sessions we go to. So we have come up with this Targeted Training. This targeted training is designed to work on one problem only such as walking, coming when called and visitors at the house. If you have aggression issues or have more than one command you would like taught please view our training pages or behaviour consultations page.
Cost: $100 for 40 minute session. Meet at a local park or leave your home straight away. Many of our other sessions are at least an hour in duration hence the lower costs.
Pre requisites: This training is designed to work on one problem only. If you have more than one problem have a look at our general training page for options.
Walking
Is your dog pretty much perfect other than just that walking? Does your dog know every other command and you just want help with walking on a lead or even off a lead at heel? Then let us help you. We will head out of your home and go for a walk. For the entire session we will tailor make a programme for you for the walking with the goal to be walking nicely beside you by the end of the session, ideally off a lead in an off lead area. We teach your dog to walk beside and in front of you without pulling and the goal to be able to walk off lead. All notes are then sent to you after the lesson to reinforce the behaviour and you are welcome to email or call us at any time for more questions.
Coming
Is your dog great on a lead, listens to everything well except when off a lead? When off a lead do you just not exist? Or have you not had the confidence to let your dog off a lead? This session we will meet you at a local park of your choice and work for the session at this command only. By the end of the session we will have come under control for you and give you a programme to work with. Depending on success we will have let your dog off at the end, if needs some extra work we use a 20m long line to give you some control and evaluate your success. We teach your dog to come when called, to walk beside you in the park off lead and to have an excellent recall as well as one distance command. All notes are then sent to you after the lesson to reinforce the behaviour and you are welcome to email or call us at any time for more questions.
Visitors
Is your dog great outside the property but as soon as a visitor comes around your dog will just jump all over them and harass them? Then let us help you. In this session we come up with an excellent programme to teach your dog how to behave when people come around giving it a few commands to teach it not to jump, not to lick and just leave people alone! All notes are then sent to you after the lesson to reinforce the behaviour and you are welcome to email or call us at any time for more questions.
